NEW UK/NL TOUR ANNOUNCED
The Captain hit the road this autumn with the Affect State Tour, taking the band across the UK and the Netherlands with shows in London, Canterbury, Leeds, Manchester, Arnhem, Enschede, Utrecht, Hilversum, Amsterdam and more, before finishing with a hometown show at Victorie in Alkmaar. Expect new music from Affect State, familiar favourites and the intense live show that has become the heart of The Captain. Affect State will be available to stream in full on December 19, with the band celebrating its release that same night during a special hometown show at Victorie.
NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
Joy’s is about recognising your own destructive patterns, knowing exactly where things tend to go wrong, and still finding yourself making the same mistakes again. The song lives in that tension between wanting freedom and being pulled back towards what feels familiar. There’s desire, frustration and self-awareness in equal measure, but no easy way out. With its claustrophobic atmosphere, restless energy and increasingly intense delivery, Joy’s captures the feeling of being fully aware of what you’re doing to yourself while still struggling to break the cycle. As the first single from Affect State, it introduces the central themes of the EP. Love and euphoria colliding with alienation, shame, frustration and the destructive patterns that can grow underneath them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. We’re here to take you on an electrifying post-punk rock flight, blending raw energy with melodic intensity. Expect punchy rhythms, driving bass lines, edgy guitar riffs, and expressive vocals that hit you right in the soul.
Our crew? A bunch of charming pricks and lovable hypocrites, ready to bring you chaos, turbulence, and a damn good time. So fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff.
